It might have only been yesterday that we wrote our last blog post, but as is the nature with business intelligence, you never know what is around the corner.
 
Those of you outside the UK may not be aware of this, but England has been in a state of anarchy this last few days. A police shooting in London sparked rioting which has now spread to several other major cities resulting in looting, arson and numerous other acts of violence.
 
As you can image, the people living in the cities which are being targetted are highly concerned for their personal safety.
 
At Competitor Monitor, we practise what we preach and like to use our advanced business intelligence tools to keep an eye on what is going on in the world. We monitor numerous websites on a daily basis for all sorts of information, but over the last couple of days one has really stood out.
 
The below image shows some products from Amazon's Sport and Leisure catalogue (although I think you'll soon realise none of the products will be used for either of those purposes).
 
All Amazon products are attributed a 'Sales Rank' figure, #1 being the product with most sales at present.
 
Something very important to note, the below sales rank increases are only from the last 24 hours!

Product Matching

It's almost time folks... we've been super busy at Competitor Monitor HQ working on product matching, an exciting new feature that allows you to view your products across multiple competitors at the same time.
 

What is it?

Product matching lets you link up your products to identical products on your competitors websites.

 

What are the benefits?
When a competitor changes a price, you can view it at the same time as comparing it to yours and your other competitor’s prices. It is great for an overall snapshot of what everyone is up to and where you are positioned in the market.


How does it work?
As usual, we’ve made it as easy as possible for you.

Either you ask us to do the matching for you for a one-time small fee, or you do it yourself.

Unlike other price monitoring tools, you don’t have to leave our application to do the matching which saves hours upon hours of time. Most applications make you go to each specific webpage and highlight the pricing, so our team put a lot of hard work into getting around that, and the result is great.

1)    Select which website you want to match products for





2)    Choose a product to match





You can remove products from the database at the click of a button here.


3)    Click match on the same product across your competitors sites

4)    Repeat!

This is as easy as it gets folks. We have called this process ‘Multi-Site Matching’. Not only do you stay in the application to do it, but you can also match up each site at the same time, another feature we have not seen elsewhere (usually it is done one site at a time… I know, painstaking).

When you log in, you get taken an overall snapshot of your monitored sites (remember you also get an email each day if any changes have been made, so you don’t have to waste your time logging in each day).

You can then view all changed prices together and make decisions on how to act on that information. No need to check your own prices or check competitors prices as well, all the information you need is grouped together in a very easy to interpret format.
